Class Assignments

When I first saw the word blog in the syllabus I was a little bit worried because writing is not one of my fortes. However after being in this class for one week I find it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Since i'm not very good with technology blogging sounded like something I wouldn't be able to do, but the instructions for the assignments are very direct and clear. I also like the set up of this class it isn't very strict it's very simple. Just do the work and you should get full credit and if you miss something then do the extra credit to make up for it. I especially like the extra credit opportunities because as an architecture major I have often found myself giving my studio class priority over pretty much every other class and sometimes not putting as much effort into certain assignments as I should. These extra credit assignments will give me the option of doing assignments with as much effort as I should.

Introduction To a Future Architect

My name is Trishna Patel and I'm a second year architecture major. My main hobby (if you can consider it one) is watching tv mostly tv shows, documentaries, and anime. I also like to watch movies. Mostly action and sci-fi movies but also ones based off of real life stories. I absolutely love all the Marvel movies and the Harry Potter movies. I also like to read books mostly young adult and romance books. If I'm not doing either of the two I'm usually in my studio classroom in Gould Hall doing whatever project I was assigned. Picture of Gould Hall that houses OU's College of Architecture Washington Times This summer I went on vacation in Africa. My dad was born in Zambia and spent most of his childhood there so he wanted to show us the place he grew up in. We spent two days in Lusaka where he was born, and then we went to Livingston where we saw Victoria Falls. We also spent some time in Tanzania where we took a day hike up Mt. Kilimanjaro and a week long sa...

Wikipedia Trail: From Picasso to Salt Institute for Biological Studies

Pablo Picasso I saw Picasso on the class twitter feed, and chose to start my trail with him because he's one of the few modern artists that I like. Paloma Picasso I chose to go to this article because I was curious to Picasso's children. Jonas Salk I chose to move on to Paloma's stepfather because his name sounded familiar. Then I realized it sounded familiar because he was the guy who developed the first successful polio vaccine. Salt Institute for Biological Studies I chose to go from Salk to the Salk Institute because as an architecture major I've actually seen this building multiple times. I mostly see it when talking about its' architect Louis Khan.                         Salt Institute for Biological Studies                                                  Source     ...
